Maldives 2011 Trip Report
When you travel 32 hours to get to a dive destination, the question always is "was it worth it?". After just one dive in the Maldives, I knew the answer was a resounding "YES"! Literally half way around the world from Denver you'll find the island nation of Maldives. Comprising of 1192 islands, each more beautiful than the last one, the Maldives is a divers paradise.

After our 10 day liveaboard trip, I asked our travel companions what they thought of the diving. Some of the comments included "more fish than we've seen in a long time", "this destination has quickly become our new favorite" and "the abundance of fish life is overwhelming". These are rare to see from a group of divers with an average of 500 dives each. |

| From the dancing mantas to the soft coral reminding us of Fiji, the Maldives were a pleasure to dive. Add in calm seas, a great variety of dive sites and creature encounters, we were a happy bunch. |

Massive tuna, Napoleon Wrasse, turtles of several shapes and sizes, leafy scorpionfish and at least a million and one anthias, and we always had something interesting to draw our attention. Add in some amazing shark and Manta encounters, and our divers were grinning from ear to ear.

| With two more upcoming trips to the Maldives on the calendar, I can tell you this diver is excited for what's to come. |
